01
Position
Support your head and relax the shoulders
Sit with the back supported and let the elbows rest when possible. Remove clips or accessories that create pressure.
- Use finger pads, not nails
- Keep the jaw loose
- Start with light contact
02
Movement
Move the scalp in small circles
Place the finger pads over the sides and top of the head, make small slow circles, then pause. Avoid pulling hair or holding the neck in an awkward angle.
- Work around tender areas
- Avoid recent procedures
- Keep the pace slow
03
Stop
Headache warning signs are not a massage problem
Stop for sudden severe headache, dizziness, neurological symptoms, recent head injury, or worsening pain. Seek appropriate medical care rather than continuing pressure.
- Do not press hard
- Skip irritated skin
- Get urgent help for alarming symptoms
