Gentle calf massage, with clot warnings kept visible

Ordinary muscle fatigue may tolerate broad light pressure. Unexplained one-sided swelling, warmth, redness, or pain requires medical attention, not massage.

Screen first

Do not massage possible clot symptoms

Sudden or unexplained one-sided calf swelling, warmth, redness, tenderness, chest pain, or shortness of breath can be urgent. Do not test the area with pressure.

  • Seek urgent evaluation when appropriate
  • Do not use a massage gun
  • Do not delay care
02

Routine

Support the leg and use broad strokes

For ordinary post-activity fatigue without warning signs, sit securely and use broad hands over the muscular calf. Stay away from the back of the knee.

  • Use light pressure
  • Avoid veins or tender lumps
  • Keep the ankle relaxed
03

Stop

Worsening symptoms end the routine

Stop for sharp pain, cramping that does not ease, numbness, swelling, heat, color change, or symptoms that feel different from ordinary soreness.

  • Do not repeat through pain
  • Use gentle movement instead
  • Get evaluated when concerned
