Protect your body while learning massage

Sustainable technique is not a single perfect posture. It combines table height, stance, tool choice, pacing, breaks, workload, and speaking up early.

Set the environment

Adjust the table before adapting your body

Table height, client position, bolsters, room to move, and footwear influence leverage and balance. One setup does not fit every body or technique.

  • Practice adjustments before clinic
  • Keep walking paths clear
  • Use equipment designed for the task
02

Change tools and load

Do not make thumbs solve every problem

Training should include choices among broad hands, forearms, supported positions, movement, and reducing pressure. Pain or numbness is not a professional rite of passage.

  • Report symptoms early
  • Alternate tasks when possible
  • Avoid pushing through sharp or neurological symptoms
03

Plan the week

Sustainability includes scheduling

Breaks, session variety, administrative blocks, hydration, food, sleep, and recovery affect capacity. A high session count is not automatically a successful schedule.

  • Build gradual volume
  • Track later-day symptoms
  • Seek appropriate evaluation for persistent problems
