Rest is not a performance failure
Some people become drowsy in a quiet room while lying still. You do not need to stay alert to prove you are participating.
- Snoring is common
- Drooling can happen
- No apology is required

Communication
The therapist may wake you for a position change
They may say your name or ask you to turn over, adjust an arm, or confirm comfort. The drape should remain secure during transitions.
- Ask for a slower cue
- Request no position change
- Take a moment before moving

After
Reorient before standing
Sit up gradually and notice dizziness, grogginess, or discomfort before dressing. Take the private time you need.
- Move slowly
- Drink if you are thirsty
- Do not rush into driving if lightheaded
