Common areas

Back, shoulders, arms, hands, legs, and feet can be discussed

A full-body label is not a blank check. Confirm which areas the therapist normally includes and which require a separate conversation.

  • Name areas you want included
  • Mark ask-first areas
  • List areas to avoid

Sensitive areas

Clinical relevance does not remove consent

Gluteal, abdominal, chest-wall, inner-thigh, or other sensitive-area work may be regulated or handled differently. It should never be introduced without clear explanation and permission.

  • Ask why an area is proposed
  • Request an alternative
  • Local draping rules vary

A previously agreed area can be skipped when you feel uncomfortable, ticklish, sore, or simply no longer interested. No justification is required.

  • Say “skip this area”
  • Change position
  • Stop the session
